Sometimes we hold onto things, thoughts, and attitudes that no longer serve us — that hold us back from becoming our best selves. Rev. Washington will invite us to gather up our courage, let go, and imagine the possibilities. And, she will introduce us to a spiritual exercise or two that will help us.
Rev. Lee Anne Washington has been an attorney, author, educator, and now pastor for over 30 years. She is a graduate of the College of William & Mary, the University of Virginia Law School, and Union Presbyterian Seminary. She was raised in the United Methodist Church, lived 10 years as a Modern Orthodox Jewish woman, and is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock. She brings a multi-faith and multi-cultural perspective to her preaching and social justice work. Something of a feminist biblical scholar, she has published a book, The Human Life Equation,supporting women’s right to reproductive choice from a biblical perspective.
